Nippo Boating Practices

  • All watercraft must travel counter clockwise around the lake.
  • No more than FOUR watercraft are permitted on the lake at the same time (except for the annual 4th of July Boat Parade), and only THREE watercraft are permitted if they are towing skiers or tubes.
  • Watercraft must maintain no-wake headway speeds of 6 mph or less within 300 feet of shore and 150 feet of the coves, other vessels, swimmers in the water and swimming areas, docks, or floats.
  • It is illegal to operate a watercraft within a cove that does not exceed 1,000 feet at its widest point at greater than headway speed.
  • When returning to the shore with a skier, the towing vessel and the skier must remain at least 150 feet from shore.

​Remember to clean any watercraft if it's been used at another lake or body of water.  Things like cyanobacteria or milfoil can be brought in accidentally and cause the lake to be unusable.  Do you part to keep Nippo Lake clean!
