The baby loon has left the nest!
On Friday June 12, 2026, the Nippo Lake loon pair welcomed a brand new baby loon. When you are out on the lake, keep an eye out for the little ball of fluff near its parents, usually riding on one of their backs.
Every year when we get close to welcoming a new loon to Nippo Lake, we post an approximate hatch date here on the site! Remember when boating or floating to avoid the nesting area and try to keep your wake to a minimum so as not to disrupt the loons.
